+ The client is integrated into Mac OS X 10.6 and later.+ The Apple built-in client ensures support as the Mac OS evolves.Shrew Soft has a Pro version that might read the ACL from the ASA, but I have yet to test it.Well from the user perspective on the MAC computer you may use the Built-in VPN client and does not require you to download a VPN client and have it installed, for the steps on creating the VPN definition. So any time the Network List changes, each of the clients will require changes to their connection definition.
I have just tried this again this morning to install the VPN client on a Hyper-V virtual machine of the same build and the machine boots fine after installing the VPN client. You have to tell it what Remote Network Resources require the VPN tunnel. and I had this black screen issue on my Surface Pro 3 even after a vanilla build of Windows 10 TP 9926. Seem to find the proper topology from the ASA it's connecting to. I've been forced to use the Shrew Soft VPN Client.
Rolling back 1709 is not possible for Windows 10 Home users since Microsoft is making updates mandatory. With 1709, not even the CVirtA registry setting has been spared. This is "actively unsupported" technology because it cannot generate monthly revenue for them. I decided to throw this out there hoping someone from Microsoft would see this and reconsider uninstalling software that THEY think would work on Windows 10 and just flag it for users to decide.Ĭisco seems to have some sort of agreement with Microsoft to kill the Cisco Systems VPN Client. Not to mention that most of the systems are in remote locations. Uninstalling the program causes network administrators a lot of extra work re-installing the software. No place that I can find allows me to do that unless I pay to suggest the change. I have been trying to find a way to suggest to Microsoft that they just flag 'non compatible' software rather than uninstalling it. Uninstalls the Cisco VPN client indicating that it is not compatible with Window 10.
When Microsoft released it's latest Windows 10 upgrade version 1607 (OS Build 14393.222) which is a big update it still The problem is the Microsoft STILL does not believe it is compatible. Users have come up with a way that the VPN client works on Windows 10. Microsoft was wrong then and they are wrong now.
